We ❤️ all our clients. But one that has an extra special place in our hearts is the Aminata Maternal Foundation. Set up in 2016 by founder Aminata Conteh-Biger, the Australian charity campaigns and raises funds to help improve maternal healthcare in Sierra Leone. The west African country is the worst place in the world for women to give birth. The stats are pretty grim. Five women die EVERY DAY from pregnancy related causes. And women 200 times more likely to die in childbirth than their Aussie sisters. If they do survive, they are at risk of fistula - a life-changing condition that can only be treated with surgery.
Aminata’s own story is shocking, devastating and inspiring all at once - but that's for another blog (check out the award-winning SBS documentary about her here) She's a bloody awesome woman and we're constantly blown away by her infectious passion and drive for helping mums and bubs. So it's been a privilege to be able to work with the foundation on their social media, creating a strategy that included content pillars and creative to raise awareness of their work, engage their current audience and reach a whole new one too.
The first Bluff and Swagger Fashion Lunch was held in October 2018 and were were on the spot to capture the colour and atmosphere as supporters flocked to Sceggs Great Hall for an afternoon of all things Africa.
As well as a gallery of images, we created an instastory onsite, live streaming the energetic African drumming and the stunning fashion show which took place during lunch.
The event was a sell out and the Bluff and Swagger spirit continued to shared across social media for weeks afterwards. Here's to the next event Aminata!
